Introducing our Founder

Rosalynd Hicks, M.D. has been a board certified Internist since 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine and the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Hicks has extensive experience in providing care for patients in hospital, outpatient and skilled nursing facility settings. The primary cornerstones of her style of practice are: compassionate communication; helping patients to make fully informed health care decisions; and encouraging patients to make positive changes in their lifestyles.

Dr. Hicks is aware, from firsthand experience, that the healthcare system in our United States is becoming more impersonal and rushed, and that certain critical aspects of patient care are at serious risk of being compromised. This could result in a dramatic decline in the availability of comprehensive patient care, gaps in a patient’s knowledge about their own health status, a lack of personalized health guidance/counsel that is vital for patients to make informed decisions, and a deepening negative impact on the health of entire communities.

Dr. Hicks has focused her professional career as a champion of positive change in the healthcare system. One such focus is on behalf of the women of the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, who have unique healthcare needs and lack the health resources and support that would enable them to achieve and maintain a balanced physical-psychological-emotional lifestyle.
In response to this growing need, Dr. Hicks created the Wellness Center for Women (TWCW), in 2007, as an accessible and affordable health education-resource-referral organization within our community. TWCW is dedicated to identifying women with unmet healthcare needs and compassionately connecting them to quality, local healthcare professionals and agencies that are best suited to serve them.

As a wife, mother to a “special needs” child, and a woman with a professional career, Dr. Rosalynd Hicks understands the importance of the right support in achieving a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
